Meet Our Team
Get to know the experts that are helping Richmond to feel better
As a 4th generation Richmonder, this city has always been my family’s home. Growing up with parents in the medical field it was instilled in me early on that helping people is extremely important. I started The Feel Better Lounge as my way of giving back to the Richmond area with the goal to make holistic health available to everyone in this amazing community.
My parents were a massive inspiration to me and were one of the many reasons why I decided to pursue a life in the medical field. I attended the University of Georgia – Go Dawgs – and became Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. After completing a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at VCU, and 1 year as a Physician at Tuckahoe Orthopedics. I decided to go out on my own and start my own practice in 2008. For years, it was my goal to not just treat a patient for their pain, but to look at the whole body and help to find and treat the source of a patient’s trouble using both conservative and holistic measures.
During my medical education, I began to put together my plans for a holistic health center that would allow the Richmond public access to services to improve physical, social, and mental health through active participation. I believed from very early on that Richmond was ready for a physician-backed holistic health center. I envisioned bringing the community together into a relaxed atmosphere, where individuals could sit around a fire, surrounded by a supportive and inclusive community, drinking mocktails with friends. I want to make wellness – physical, mental, and social– a fun, relaxing habit that allows individuals the ability to take a more active role in their health and wellness.
Outside of work you might find me supporting local sporting teams or enjoying some of the amazing restaurants around Richmond. I am so proud and excited to be a part of the ever-changing landscape of this vibrant city by helping to make Richmond Feel Better.
I started my journey in the health and wellness field as a personal trainer at the University of Tampa, where I received my Master’s in Exercise Science and Nutrition. I then completed an internship at Duke, working with their Olympic Sports Performance athletes and coaches before making my way to Virginia to work at the University of Mary Washington as a Strength and Conditioning coach. I continued to work in the fitness industry for several years as a fitness director, focusing on personal training and medical exercise while working with several different populations in the Fredericksburg community, ranging from Division I athletes to clients in their 80’s. I specialized in working with clients after surgery, specifically joint replacements, and spinal fusions.
I have always had a passion for overall health and wellness. At the Feel Better Lounge, I hope to expand my knowledge of wellness and share with other ways in which they can improve their overall health. I love working with my team to create an environment in which clients can have the best experience and “feel better” as soon as they leave.
Outside of work, you might find me reading a book, working out at the gym, or relaxing at home with my husband, Aaron, and our dog Dyna, a bullypit who loves to cuddle and sleep all day long. I hope to help the Feel Better Lounge grow and thrive in Richmond, sharing all of the ways in which they can help everyone on their journey to improved wellness. Please come say hello next time you are at The Feel Better Lounge!
